“Discussion is an exchange of knowledge, while an argument is an exchange of ignorance.”—Robert Quillen
Wao. When I read this quote, I smiled. He makes a critical distinction between a discussion and an argument. He highlights that discussions are where productive exchanges of knowledge take place while arguments are where ignorance is exchanged. The difference is in learning or expanding but not defending views or proving others wrong.
So, how is the quality of your conversations? He enlightens us to desist from discussions that are not productive and which do not enlighten us.
